Old Ham Shacks - and beasts!

Ramon Gandia, AL7X, Nome, Alaska

This is not me or my radio shack, but it shows about what it looked like. The big transmitter is an old Military surplus BC-610-I, about 400 watts CW and 300 on AM voice. The mike is an Astatic D-104. I have owned both of those, but my 1kw 1960 AM transmitter was larger.

I have never smoked, and the radios behind N3IBX are Heathkits. Not bad, but mine were better.

Now, doesn't this beat just going around with a walkie-talkie?!
